Join us for one day and two topics!
TOPIC ONE- Rock Photography: The Cover Shot
YOU are tasked with creating an iconic cover photo of a band for a major music magazine. The lighting is set, your nerves are all over the place, you are laser focused. The band just left the dressing room and is on the way to your set. You have just 2 minutes with the band as they stop to shoot with you before they take the stage. What do you do? How do you get the shot?
Go behind the lens of Rock Photographer Jeremy Saffer as he shows how he would photograph a band in a real life photo shoot scenario, with a special guest band, then attendees take over and photograph the special guest band using what they learned.
TOPIC TWO- Rock Photography: Photographing the Feature
You just shot the cover with Rock Photography: The Cover… now it’s time to shoot the interior of the magazine, and, maybe some extras for the bands. What do you need to get for a successful cover feature magazine spread? Watch as Jeremy does quick set ups and quick changes to get as much variety as possible in the shortest time possible in order to get a successful feature set. Afterward attendees take over and photograph their own sets with the special guest band.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone with an interest in portrait photography and lighting will gain much from this program. Music photographers looking to get into music portraiture. Any photographers who want the chance to photograph a band using professional lighting in a studio setting.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Having a basic understanding of photography, camera settings, and being familiar with your camera is important but students do not need any prior lighting experience.
