How do you choose the best spots to photograph birds? I will be introducing apps that help you to decide where and when to go. This includes radar forecasts of night migration flights and a global wind App you can use during seasonal migration?or any time to see when rare birds might get blown off course and where they are likely to end up. I will also share how to get the most out of eBird and listserv postings. We will talk about how to use familiar apps such as Google maps to find good habitats for specialized species and clues to find spots with the best lighting. Armed with these apps, you can get better results from your favorite spots, plan a trip to an unfamiliar location, and discover nearby spots that you might not have thought to check.
