Focus Stacking and Frame Averaging – Two unique tools in the Phase One photographic system.

Focus Stacking

Focus Stacking allows photographers to capture multiple images at varying focus points and effortlessly merge them into a single, sharp image through an automated workflow. This technique is invaluable for tabletop and product photography, where achieving full focus from the foreground to the background is crucial. It eliminates the need to stop down the aperture, thereby avoiding diffraction and ensuring maximum image clarity.

Frame Averaging

Frame Averaging offers a powerful solution for creating long exposure effects in broad daylight—without the need for ND filters. By averaging multiple frames, it not only simulates long exposures but also significantly reduces image noise. When completed, a single standard size image is created!  This allows photographers to concentrate on composition and creativity, free from technical constraints.
