Portland Maine makes a perfect setting for a weekend of photography.  Full of history the city features an exciting mix of Old and New World charm.  The Old Port, where we will spend a lot of our time, is home to a busy fishing industry, eclectic shops, and points of interest.  Nearby locations that we will visit, Portland Head Light and Old Orchard Beach, are both picturesque, historic, and rewarding.  Our hotel, on the waterfront in the heart of the Old Port, will allow us easy access to a variety of scenes in and around Portland that offer ample opportunity to creatively explore this dynamic city.

Each day there will be hands on instruction as we discuss technique, cultivating subject development, stronger compositions, and exploring light, shadow, texture, and detail.

In this workshop we will cover:

Exposure

Composition

Metering

Use of Lenses

Subject Development

Creative Thinking

Shooting in Low Light

Long Exposures

Use of Filters (polarizers and ND)

*We will also have an online image review on Monday May 13th, 7-9pm.
