  • Neutral Density Filters (not essential)
  • Telephoto Lenses (200mm will work for horses, 500-600mm for bears and birds)
  • Shoes that you don?t mind getting wet or sandy
  • Wide Angle Lens with aperture of 2.8 or larger (for night photography)

Travel information
We recommend flying into Norfolk, VA (ORF). We will be making a courtesy bulk pickup of attendees at the airport at noon. If you choose to arrive early or stay late, you will need to rent a vehicle.

We will be staying at the Ramada Plaza Nags Head, 1701 S. Virginia Dare Tr, Kill Devil Hills, NC, 252-441-2151. Please note: Your rooms are NOT included in the cost of your ticket, but we have rooms set aside. After booking with us, make sure to call to put your name on one of those rooms. Workshop Description
The Outer Banks, a ribbon of sand extending into the Atlantic Ocean along the North Carolina coast, is a photographer?s paradise. Join Don Toothaker and special guest instructor Mark Buckler as they explore this exciting and dynamic region for the wide array of subjects that if offers. Mark has called this area home for the past 15 years and has photographed it extensively. This photography workshop will feature opportunities to photograph breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, wild horses on the beach, lighthouses, wildlife such as black bears and shore birds, the night sky, and more. ?The photography sessions in the field will also be supplemented with some classroom instruction and image reviews.
We will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction, critiques, and photographic assignments each day.
