Located along the picturesque shores of Cape Elizabeth, Portland Head Light serves as a beautiful setting for our workshop. Andy and Jamie will guide you through the essentials of safe and responsible flight, helping you gain confidence in maneuvering your drone. You’ll learn to deftly navigate your drone, capturing unique angles and perspectives only birds have enjoyed until now.
In addition to mastering the technical aspects of drone operation, we’ll dive into the art of drone photography. You’ll learn how to compose breathtaking aerial shots that emphasize the grandeur of Portland Head Light, using the interplay of light, shadow, and surrounding landscapes to create your vision. The workshop will also explore the dynamic nature of ocean waves, teaching you how to freeze a single crashing wave in time or capture the graceful dance of rhythmic swells from above.
By the end of this in-person workshop at Portland Head Light, you’ll emerge as a skilled drone pilot and storyteller, equipped with the ability to capture breathtaking aerial photographs and videos that showcase the splendor of lighthouses and the ever-changing ocean waves. Whether you’re an aspiring professional photographer, a drone enthusiast, or simply captivated by the allure of coastal landscapes, this workshop promises to elevate your creative journey.
