Join Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and portrait and sports photographer Henry Marte for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be creating dynamic lighting scenarios involving athletes, both posed and in motion! Attendees will learn about how to create amazing portraits using a mixture of natural light and flash, understand subject placement, when and why to use strobes (and where to place them), and will end up with some excellent portfolio-building images!

In this workshop, we will begin by developing dynamic lighting setups with natural light and flash. Attendees will begin to develop an understanding of how lighting outdoors can positively affect sports portraits. During the second half of the workshop, we will take it a step further by adding in movement and action, a unique and fun look in our end result!   We will use Westcott strobes and have a series of athlete-models available for the shoot.

This workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process of lighting a subject, how to properly expose while using strobes, and how to actually use the strobes themselves!
Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
