This Month’s Print Review Monthly Session: Printing BIG and small

“If you can’t make it good, make it big, and if you can’t make it big, make it red.” – Attributed to many artists

Go big or go home? Are many small pieces equal to one big piece? In this class, we will look at printing big and printing small and discuss what images work on the large and small scale. We will then create one large and one small print, looking critically at both end results!

Leading up to the date of the session, you’ll receive a pre-recorded video that discusses, among other things, considerations on editing your images, paper selection, and other important elements of making a print.  Attendees will independently process 1-2 images and upload them to the instructor for review. The instructor will send back a video image review discussing what you did and how to improve your edits for print. The instructor will then print one of the images to be displayed in the Print Review, which will take place both in-person and online, in case you cannot attend live. In the end of each session, you will end up with two prints- one up to 13×19” on Fine Art paper and one small scale, 4×6 or 5×7 image. (We print on Moab, Hahnemuhle, and Canson fine art papers.)

About our Print Review Monthly Classes

For our Print Review classes, you can either choose a single session OR sign up for three months at a discounted rate.  You do not need to attend 3 consecutive sessions and may attend whenever it’s convenient. Choosing this option is excellent to keep the printing conversation going! However, please note that the sessions expire after one year. (If you end up not being able to attend all the sessions, you can also exchange a session for an additional print!)

These sessions are excellent for anyone:

• Someone that wants a little help with editing before they get a print

• Someone that does print but has print-related questions

• A person that prints often and wants to try a different paper

• Someone with no knowledge of printing that just wants to get a print!

Receiving Your Print
After the class, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations.
Registering and what is needed
After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.
“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)
We will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time.
