What to Bring:
  • Your camera (digital if you could please)
  • Any lenses you want to use
  • Feel free to bring snacks and water. There will be snacks on hand, but if you have any dietary restrictions please let us know
  • Bring an extra camera battery and freshly formatted memory cards
  • Anything you want to take notes with
  • As always, bring your enthusiasm and creative thoughts!
Recommended Prerequisites:
Having a basic understanding of photography, camera settings, and being familiar with your camera is important. Students must be able to operate their camera?s menu navigation and button system on their own. Knowledge of photography basics & understanding of the exposure triangle required. Students do not need any prior lighting experience

ABOUT OUR WEEKEND OF WORKSHOPS WITH JEREMY SAFFER- This is one part of a three-day weekend of workshops with Jeremy Saffer. When signing up, you have THREE ticket options. You can attend the half-day session of this workshop, that will take place from 10am-2:30pm. If you add on the full-day option, you will have an additional 3 hours of shooting in the workshop. Either way, you will have plenty of time to shoot! 
And finally, if you want to take the full weekend of workshops, you will notice a discounted rate! Friday is Of Shadow and Fog, Saturday is Small Lights/Epic Portraits, and Sunday is Totally Tubular. Make sure to choose the Three Day Option!

If you are sick or feeling unwell, STAY HOME! We will gladly give you a partial credit towards a future workshop. Also, please note: We are requiring that ANY ATTENDEE with a cough MUST wear a mask for the health and safety of the attendees, instructors, and models.

Refund Policy – Special Workshop

Certain special workshops, such as this one, are non-refundable. If you need to cancel more than 10 days prior, you can receive a 50% credit towards a class in the future. We do not offer credits within 10 days of the workshop.

For all cancellations, you must contact classes@huntsphoto.com prior to the event. If you register for a class and do not show up, your payment will be forfeited.

Join photographer Jeremy Saffer in a workshop focused on using battery powered small and lightweight lighting for some epic portraiture. With just a few small cases, Jeremy will build to a full studio setup with 12+ lights, stands, and mods, everything needed for a wide variety of different lighting setups and options to light and capture an incredible shoot with tons of versatility.
Be it shooting in studio, traveling locally, or flying across the world, this workshop will use equipment that can easily pack up and go with you anywhere you want or need to shoot.
As mentioned in the title, our models will be emphasizing a Cosplay look, which is a great addition to anyone’s portfolio!

SCHEDULE

10:00 a.m. – Intro to Jeremy Saffer
10:15 a.m. – Small Lights/Epic Portraits
10:45 a.m. – Gear rundown
11:00 a.m. – Pre-shoot QnA with guest/band.
11:30 a.m. – Live Shoot: Jeremy photographs guest bands/models
12:30 p.m. – Live Shoot: Students photograph guest bands/models
2:30 p.m. – Wrap for the half-day group/break for extended shoot set up.
3:00 p.m. – Live Shoot: extended time/exclusive sets/student builds: Students get extended time and sets photographing guest bands/models – building their own set optional.
6:00 p.m. – Wrap

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone with an interest in portrait photography and lighting will gain much from this program. Music photographers looking to get into music portraiture. Any photographers who want the chance to photograph a band using professional lighting in a studio setting.
