Class size:
Up to 30 attendees with 3-4 instructors; maximum 8 attendees per instructor
What to Bring:
  • Your camera and a standard zoom lens is a good starting point
  • If you have a second camera body, it is recommended to bring it
  • Prime Lenses are an excellent option, but remember that Canon will also have gear available to loan, if you want to try anything!
  • Bring extra camera batteries and memory cards
  • A Notebook and writing utensil is a good idea.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for photographers that are looking to start out in wedding photography, as well as photographers that have a few weddings under their belt and are looking to get more focused information. This workshop is at an intermediate level and photographers should have a working knowledge of their camera as well as an understanding of exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

Refund Policy – Special Workshop

Certain special workshops, such as this one, are non-refundable. If you need to cancel more than 10 days prior, you can receive a 50% credit towards a class in the future. We do not offer credits within 10 days of the workshop.

For all cancellations, you must contact classes@huntsphoto.com prior to the event. If you register for a class and do not show up, your payment will be forfeited.

Hunt’s Photo Education proudly presents our second Wedding Photography Workshop! The centerpiece of this workshop will be a full-day, hands-on, stylized/mock wedding shoot at the beautiful Olio industrial wedding venue in Peabody, MA. Photographers will be led by Hunt’s Photo Educator Rebecca Cee, a local wedding photographer who has photographed well over 100 weddings, along with wedding photographer Tessa Klingensmith. Rebecca and Tessa have a combined experience of over ten years photographing weddings. Attendees will learn everything from the proper equipment and technical skills to navigate a wedding day successfully. In addition, photographers will learn the importance of client communication, marketing strategy, and the back end of running a wedding photography business.
Anyone that registers for this workshop will also be able to attend our 2-part online Wedding Photography class sessions for no additional charge! These classes will not only provide a substantial background for our workshop, but also help build more of an understanding of what goes into each wedding!

Finally, all attendees will be able to submit a handful of their final, edited images to Rebecca for individualized image reviews.

Wedding Workshop Day Shoot includes:

• Two REAL couples (not models) in full wedding-day dress, hair, and makeup

• Dynamic Posing Instruction

• Decorated industrial chic venue at Olio in Peabody. Ceremony space will be fully decorated. You will have access to the majority of the areas in Olio, and, weather permitting, outdoor areas

• Mock decorated dinner table and cake

• Champagne Tower (!!!)

• Colorful Florals

• Flat Lays with accessories

• Strobes/Lighting and triggers for use in venue

• 3-4 instructors; maximum 8 attendees per instructor

• Video (DSLR or mirrorless) instruction

• A light lunch and refreshments for attendees

• Full use of images for your portfolio — You will walk away from this workshop with portfolio-worthy images!

• Networking with Industry Professionals– We will have representatives for hair, make-up, and florals

Registration also includes:

• A 2-part online Wedding Photography class- The Basics (Thursday April 18th) and the Business (Thursday April 25th) of Wedding Photography

• Personal Image Review after workshop

Details About the Stylized, Mock Shoot
We will provide all of the basics elements of the wedding-day experience, including two couples, the cake, the floral arrangements, the venue, the tux and the gown!

About our venue, Olio

Olio is a wonderfully unique space. It has an industrial feel, with concrete walls and massive ceilings, but it retains the warm, wooden charm of an early-20th century vaudeville theater from which the space originates. (From their website:) “This historic space has been outfitted with every modern amenity to be the ideal space to host functions of all kinds.  We provide a non-traditional venue so that our clients have a blank slate to start from and can make the space their own. Without any décor, the soaring ceilings and cement walls feel “industrial chic” but clients can transform the space with glitz and glam, rustic touches, romantic lighting, modern lines, whimsical details, and vintage furniture.  If you can dream it, it can be done at Olio.”

Olio can be a dream to photograph in, but it can also pose challenges from a lighting perspective. Our workshop will, in part, aim to demonstrate how to effectively photograph in this space!
