Don’t know where to begin when photographing dancers? Jump right in for this day-long in-depth learning experience with Heather Larkin and SIGMA lenses where we will be working with ballet dancers, both at rest and in action. In this deep dive masterclass, you’ll learn what to look for in a good dance photo. You’ll also learn a few dance vocabulary terms so you can ask your ballerina models to execute what you are envisioning.
We?ll start by watching Heather as she poses the dancers for the best portraits in the studio. Then, you?ll have the opportunity to take photos under the same conditions. As a bonus, you?ll also have the opportunity to use SIGMA lenses, allowing you to optimize your dance photography experience.
After a short break, we?ll come back and shoot some more! Weather permitting, we will shoot on-location outdoors at a nearby location. Walk with Heather and your ballerina models, learning how to account for changing light and unique conditions. You’ll put the morning learning into more practice, all with expert help along the way to ensure you get killer images when you?re done! This workshop is an excellent opportunity for photographers of any skill level!
Please note: Because of the importance of the studio environment for the first half of this workshop, our Sunday workshop will be held at a studio in Fall River, MA. We will let you know the specific meeting location upon registering.
